THE CHALLENGE: A SALON FOR EVERY TEXTURE, ON ONE SMALL SCREEN.
Act 1 has served Winchester for more than 22 years, by its own account, with a wide range of services under one roof: hair, color, braids and extensions, makeup, spa and nails.
Clients needed to see that range quickly, from a phone, and then get to a booking page without hunting. The salon needed a site that did that without replacing the booking and payment tools it already trusted.
OUR
APPROACH.
Four decisions shaped the build.
- 01Keep booking where it already works
Act 1 already ran appointments, providers and payments in GlossGenius. We did not rebuild that. The website sends clients into it from every page.
- 02Sort the services into six categories
Haircuts and styling, color, extensions, makeup, spa and wellness, and nails, lashes and waxing. Each has its own section with a “view current services” link and a booking link.
- 03Let the photography lead
Six photo albums sit in a dedicated gallery. Clients can browse them before choosing a service.
- 04Design for the phone first
The layout is designed for phone widths first and expanded for desktop. At phone width, the menu is one tap away and booking links appear throughout.
01 / SERVICES
Six categories, one clear path to book.
Each category lists the kinds of work it covers in plain language. The page says prices, durations and the full menu live in GlossGenius, so the details a client sees while booking stay current.

02 / GALLERY
Six albums that show the work first.
Cut & Color, Braids & Natural Hair, Special Occasion Hair & Makeup, Hair Extensions, Act 1 Over the Years, and Before & After. A link on the page opens the salon’s GlossGenius portfolio.

- Revenue or any change in business results
Everything in the first column can be seen on the live site today. Results belong to the salon and its own records.
“Very professional and reliable.”
